PPA104-CAS-Elements of Style-Paper Piercing

 

Today's Pals Paper Arts challenge is a Clean and Simple (CAS) Elements of Style, and that element is paper piercing.  I love how piercing, however little or much that you add to your creations, gives it a whole new look.  I like to do this sometimes when I know that my project needs just a little more oomph, but I can't quite figure out which embellshment to add.  Paper piercing is just the thing. 

I totally CASED this from my amazing upline, Mary Fish.  She did a fabulous video tutorial on making this adorable little card holder.  If you haven't yet purchased one of her tutorials I say hurry and run over there and do it.  Her videos  are helpful and fun (I love the little comments she makes!!) and so informative.  Thanks Mary for always being such a great leader, and for creating this gorgeous project!!

PPA 103-Another Fabulous Sketch

 

Not only does today bring us 90+ degree weather here in Portland, Maine, but it also brings us another fabulous sketch challenge from the fabulous Margaret Moody!! 

 

Since the weather is so . . . . toasty, I thought it only fitting to bring some beverages to the fun.  I pulled out the newly-retired Cheers to You stamp set, and set out to bring some cool, refreshing relief to the day.  Whatever  your beverage, I hope you're staying cool !!

PPA102-Bring on Summer!!

 

I love summer.  I could do without the humidity, but will gladly take it if it means warm temperatures and sunshine!!  And one of my favorite things about summer?  Ice cream, of course.  (But let's just say that I don't save my ice cream habits only for summer.  Shhh!!)

I saw this gorgeous ice cream on Carla Bazhenow's blog quite awhile ago, and told her that one day I would be CASEing them.  Here they are, Carla!!  Mine are actually a variation on her gorgeous creation!!

PPA101-Summertime Blues

 

Although blue isn't usually the first color I reach for when papercrafting, I love the combination of blues in today's Pals Paper Arts challenge. 

 

This card is for my roommate.  She is about to become a grandmother for the first time (her daughter-in-law is actually in labor as I type this on Wednesday night!!)  I used some retired Blueberry Crisp DSP to tie all of the blues together. They're having a boy, so the blues were perfect. 

I ended up loving this color combination, I'm sure I'll be using it again.  I'm looking forward to seeing what you're inspired to create.
