Welcome to the Christmas/Winter Holiday Hop! If you've arrived from Margaret Moody's blog, Margaret Moody, I'm stop number 12 on the hop.
For today's Holiday Hop, I wanted to focus on Christmas. For me, the meaning of Christmas is the most important, and I wanted to highlight it with the Christ is Born stamp set. Because for me, that's where it all began!!
A little embossing and a little layering, and this becomes a quick and easy Christmas card.
-
After starting with a 5"x7" base of Very Vanilla card stock, I cut a slightly smaller piece of Real Red card stock, and ran it through my Big Shot (you know I have to say it; my favorite SU! toy!!) using the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder. This adds texture and an extra holiday touch.
-
A strip of Old Olive card stock, with the left corners rounded using the 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch, makes a nice base for an accent bow made using Sleigh Bells ribbon. I have to confess, I was not successful tying the bow the way I wanted it, so I improvised. I ran a length of the ribbon through two slits in the Old Olive card stock, and secured it in the back. I took a second length of ribbon and tied a knot. I then secured it to the strip of ribbon using a Stampin' Dimensional. One of my goals is to perfect bow/knot tying, but this also shows that there is no wrong way of doing it.
-
Using Old Olive Classic Inkand my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig, I stamped the message on Very Vanilla. I used Snail Adhesive to secure it to the embossed paper, but before securing it completely, I tucked the left corner of the sentiment under the Old Olive card stock.
-
I finished the card by stamping the inside sentiment, also from the Christ is Born stamp set, in Old Olive Classic Ink.
I'm so glad that you stopped by, please feel free to leave me a comment. I hope you're able to work this quick and simple Christmas card into your holiday card making.
