Hello, Happy New Year!! What better way to ring out the old and ring in the new than with a challenge from the Pals Paper Arts?! This week's challenge is Anything But a Card. How fun!! It took me a little while to decide what I wanted to do, but once I figured it out, it was great fun, and pretty easy. (And who doesn't like easy?!)
I used the plastic tub in which my vitamins and supplements had come, and that I had saved specifically for this kind of project. I used different patterned paper from the Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper (DSP), and used Rose Red Classic Ink to coordinate with the paper. The tag was made by stamping the sentiment (from the "Garden from the Heart" stamp set, a sneak peak at the new Occasions Mini, coming out on January 5.) onto a piece of the DSP. It was then cut out using the Curly Label Punch (a must have for any punch collection.) By using the coordinating Curly Label die (from the Movers and Shapers die set) I made another Curly Label tag that was justthismuchbigger than the other tag, making a nicely layered tag.
The lid is covered by cutting out and layering circles made using the Circle Scissor Plus and the Scallop Circle Die (and, of course my favorite, the Big Shot!!)
I used a single hole punch to make the "brads" in the corners of the frame, using Bermuda Bay card stock.
The best part about this project is that you could adapt it to cover any kind of reusable container that you have, using any style of Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper.
I'd like to with you a safe, happy, blessed New Year. Why not start the new year on a creative foot by playing along with us at Pals Paper Arts. I can't wait to see the projects that you create!!
